What are the procedures for obtaining EU residence

The application process is different depending on what type of investment the lcient will be making. The following information is a step by step description of small investment process. If you want to obtain Permanent Residence or Citizenship, please contact us to arrange a conference call.

Assesment of the applicant if he/she is eligable for Bulgarian (EU) residence

Not every person is eligable for the EU small investment progtamme. In order to check its eligability, the client need to send a enquiry by filling the contact form, located on the left handside of our website. This will provide basic information about the applicant. After we receive your enquiry, the client will receive a small questionnaire on their email. They need to answer the questions and submit the form. We'll receive the information and will email you bavk within 24 hours and inform you if you are eligable for the EU small investment programme.

Choosing what to invest in

Our team will provide you with information about the available areas of investment. We will also provide all the details on the particular small investment you have chosen. At this stage you can ask any questions you might have regarding the residency and investment process. All documents will be presented to you. Paper copies are available too upon explicit request.

Making the investment

After you have chosen what to invest in, we'll provide you with all documents and prepare all legal papers such as power of attorneys, certificates, detailed instructions how to legalize the documents etc. The particular investment process depends on the area of investment. For example if you invest in land, you need to authorize a lawyer who will register a limited company for you and buy the land for you and on your name (or on your company name).

Preparation of all necessary documents for issuing of Visa type "D"

After the investment is made, you are ready to apply for Visa "D" in the nearest Bylgarian embassy. Our team will provide you with all needed documents for enclosing with the application form. The documents will be send via courier company (such as DHL, TNT, FedEx etc.) to the address you have provided to us. The package will come along with detailed instruction of what each document is and where to enclose it. After receiving the application documents package you need to visit the nearest Bulgarian Embassy, fill in the application form and enclose the documents you have received from us. You can download here a sample of the Visa Application Form (282 kb). Please note that you will be provided with the application form in the Bulgarian Embassy. Please don't use the one downloaded here. Each embassy has its own stamped forms, that are used in the particular embassy only! In some embassies, the applicant can be asked to attend an interview with the Bulgarian consular.

Receiving the Visa type "D" from the Bulgarian Embassy

After the client applies for Visa "D" and/or attends an interview, the documents package along with the application are sent to Bulgaria for assessment. The applicant is checked if he/she is in the records of Interlpol, Europol or the Bulgarian Police. IF the applicant has no criminal or illegal immigrant record, the he/she will be granted with Visa "D". The Bulgarian embassy official will call the applicant and invite him/her to get the visa "D" from the Embassy.

Applicant arrives in Bulgaria

The visa is granted for 6 months, but the priod starts as from the moment the client arrives in Bulgaria. The visa is multiple entry visa. The client needs to arrange a flight and come to Bulgaria, in order to apply for residency card. The client will be met at the airport by a member of our team and transported to the place of stay.

Preparation of all necessary documents for the applicant to apply for residence in Bulgaria

After the client arrives in Bulgaria with visa "D", our team will prepare the document package for applying for residency card. This wil take not more than 2-3 days.

Applying for residence in the Bulgarian Migration Directorate

After the documents package is ready, a member of our team will accompany the client to the local Migration Directorate office. As the official language of the state authorities is Bulgaria, our team member will translate into English language. Also we will assist in filling out the residency card application form, as it is in Bulgarian language. At that point, after having applied for the residency card, the client can leave the country while the residency card is being prepared. Usually it takes about onr month for the EU residency card to be ready.

Getting the Bulgarian residency ID card

After the residency card is ready, we will inform the client abut this. The client needs to book a fligh and come to collect the card, as this needs to be done in person by the client. The cards is valid for 1 year and need to be renewed at least 1 month before it expires.
